Think Like A Star

The thing about fashion is that you can wear anything that you like even though there might be someone disliking your styles. Fashion is like arts. It is very subjective. Just like the saying 'Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder'. I might like that particular style but my mom won't. I really love a pair of laced skirt but my sister would tell me that it looks like a table cloth. I fancy black and white striped blouse but my friends would call me an 'Inmate'.haha!! See, we are very different indeed.

You know sometimes we ladies are so caught up with the new trend. We drool over super duper expensive LV bags and we try to get the fake one. (Hey, I have one! yikes!). We will follow our favorite artist so that we can dress up just like them. We will save up a big amount of money for we want to buy that pretty little dress from FashionValet (FV). (Ok, I put a Malaysia's online store here since I'm from Malaysia and I love our local designers). By the way I looovveeeee FV. Really want that mimpikita dress but it's a bit pricey.

Ok, so I come out with some solutions. If you would like to have a designer-like clothes but you can't afford them then worry not. There are ways and means to it. What I do is:

1.  I browse the dress that I like and I print screen the photo.
2.  I examine the colors used for the dress/blouse. (you can even take the outfit as a whole)
3.  I try to find the pieces that are similar to the colors of the outfits within your budget.
4.  I mix and match according to my preference.

Here are some of the examples:

1. Photo on the left is from one of my favorite bloggers aka my fashion guru Asma. She wore a mimpikita outfit. Love the color combinations on her so I decided to be inspired by this style. So I mix match with the things that I have and the result would be on the right photo.

2. This one is also from mimpikita. (Gosh, I love mimpikita but there are tad expensive). Gathered what I have in the closet and there you go. =)

Well, I am not trying to be a copycat here. I am just so inspired by the designs and details from mimpikita dresses and that is why I will try my very best to have that kind of styles since I can't afford to have one. sigh. But I love all of the mimpikita designs. There are so classy, pretty, luxurious with a bit of traditional elements inserted in it. Kudos to Malaysian designers!

So, there you go. You can dress up like a star if you can think like a star. teehee..

Till then..toodles..

Not So Lil Flower Anymore...

Assalamualaikum..hi everyone..=)

This would be my first ever blog post. ya ya I know I am so late cause this is already 2014 and I just started on it. Well, better late than never right. All of the sudden I have the urge to write. I haven't been writing for such a long time. I used to love reading novels and collect them when I was in high school but not anymore. I used to write a poem, collect pretty quotes and put them in my diary, cut and paste pictures/poems/quotes that I really liked in my scrap book. I used to do all of these...but not anymore.. These were so many years ago..Now I am 28 years old, a wife, a mother and a teacher. I have changed.. a lot..

Back when I was studying in university, my boyfriend (who is right now my husband) and I liked to give each others pet names. We would actually change our pet names for each other every week according to different situations and all (love birds haha!) and automatically changed the profile name in our hand phones (I put his real name when I was mad at him). I called him prince charming, mr.panda, sunshine and cuppycake. And he would call me princess and my sayang. Why do I have only 2 pet names??brr..

He loved (yup, past tense) to give me cards and gifts. Made me go ga-ga all over him when he gave me those things. He is so good with flowery words and writing poems and letters you know. I could see that he was so into me when I read those letters and cards. Usually, I would get 'my princess' or 'my sayang' at the bottom of the letters/cards but on this one find day he changed my name...to..Lil Flower...

I think he gave me this name because in his eyes I am so small, fragile and soft. Just like that little flower. Reminiscing the good old days makes me realized that each one of us will change. I am no longer a lil flower anymore. I have changed. My size is changing (haha!) and I am a lot tougher than I used to be. So, these explain my title above.=)

There are so many things that I would like to share in this blog. Since I'm so into fashion, food and friends I will try to write more often on these areas. But maybe a lil bit about my loved ones..=)

Till we meet again. Toodles..

As salam..
