Think Like A Star

The thing about fashion is that you can wear anything that you like even though there might be someone disliking your styles. Fashion is like arts. It is very subjective. Just like the saying 'Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder'. I might like that particular style but my mom won't. I really love a pair of laced skirt but my sister would tell me that it looks like a table cloth. I fancy black and white striped blouse but my friends would call me an 'Inmate'.haha!! See, we are very different indeed.

You know sometimes we ladies are so caught up with the new trend. We drool over super duper expensive LV bags and we try to get the fake one. (Hey, I have one! yikes!). We will follow our favorite artist so that we can dress up just like them. We will save up a big amount of money for we want to buy that pretty little dress from FashionValet (FV). (Ok, I put a Malaysia's online store here since I'm from Malaysia and I love our local designers). By the way I looovveeeee FV. Really want that mimpikita dress but it's a bit pricey.

Ok, so I come out with some solutions. If you would like to have a designer-like clothes but you can't afford them then worry not. There are ways and means to it. What I do is:

1.  I browse the dress that I like and I print screen the photo.
2.  I examine the colors used for the dress/blouse. (you can even take the outfit as a whole)
3.  I try to find the pieces that are similar to the colors of the outfits within your budget.
4.  I mix and match according to my preference.

Here are some of the examples:

1. Photo on the left is from one of my favorite bloggers aka my fashion guru Asma. She wore a mimpikita outfit. Love the color combinations on her so I decided to be inspired by this style. So I mix match with the things that I have and the result would be on the right photo.

2. This one is also from mimpikita. (Gosh, I love mimpikita but there are tad expensive). Gathered what I have in the closet and there you go. =)

Well, I am not trying to be a copycat here. I am just so inspired by the designs and details from mimpikita dresses and that is why I will try my very best to have that kind of styles since I can't afford to have one. sigh. But I love all of the mimpikita designs. There are so classy, pretty, luxurious with a bit of traditional elements inserted in it. Kudos to Malaysian designers!

So, there you go. You can dress up like a star if you can think like a star. teehee..

Till then..toodles..
